Hello 2007

Hi guys,


Its been a while since my last post. My apologies; been busy lately with the running of the team. right. hyuk hyuk. macam mana nye pro club je. At least I contribute ar not like someone who concentrates on his blog je. faham2 je eh sape.. takde teamwork sey budak tu.

Ok anyway as we welcome the new year with whatever possible short-lived resolutions we may have in mind, lets take a moment to reflect on the eventful year that was 2006 - at least for the skopetians.

Skopet as a footballing force on the field was conceived in mid june. Previously we only played court soccer in residential and school soccer courts. After finding a reliable keeper in Rudy dig didi, we hastily entered Topper Cup; a platform to showcase our talent. The rest as they say is history.

We won many friendlies- ada power trashing, ada hard-fought wins, ada how-the-hell-we-win kind of wins and even tasted our first defeat in the later part of the year. We performed okay in nondescript tournament like Nus open (third place) in September and some RC competition.

Although the core of the team consist of the group that grew up together from the bpghs to pjc days, many other players have since come and established themselves. Notable additions that are now an integral part of the team includes Rudy, Zai, Prem, Saliman and Suhaimi. And even recently we acquired a new sweeper, Eng Choon, a friend of Rudy n Boyboyan. From what i've seen in the last match, definitely a good addition. Welcome dude. Make yourself at home.

We made many friends through soccer and certainly many more enemies. Apa nak buat orang jeles ngan kita. haha. Everyone knows skirmishes in soccer games or other sports are not uncommon but thankfully so far nothing serious happened except for one taik gondol team which kicked Prem's behind.hahah. Other than that Toyol Gemok will always be in the centre of controversy.. Rilek ar toyol.. "u racist ah?".. lol. asik nak gadoh je.

Prior to exams we even had overnight study sessions in school where some of us did more sleeping than studying. (refer to earlier posts). haha. We had fun though and our results also not bad pe. kan? kan?

In November Boyboyan experimented with a team blog which proved to be a hit. Lol puj sendiri.
The initial aim was to publicise the team in hope of getting opponents for friendlies but the blog has since evolved into a tool for poking fun at others bar the occasional match reports. haha TAGBOARD.. jgn cakap. dah jadi contactSOP board and space for merepek comments by strangers and friends alike. The blog is currently maintained by boyboyan, abghidung and myself ; maradona. True heroes ar these guys.

What else happened in 2006 for us? Too many things to mention but as a group thats about it. Our plan to mandi laut for the year never materialised eh? Tak pasal ah aku dah cukup vacation pon lol.
