From 3rd to the world to 2nd in the world in just a few weeks. LOL just joking. Another silverware added to skopet FC's trophy collection. Nicely done. This time , we did not bring any ladies to come and support us. See. I told u all , ladies = total destruction. hahahaha. For those wondering what competition i am talking about , its the NUS FASS futsal open competion held @ the cage in Kallang. Skopet sending 2 teams , Skopet Invicta and Skopet Mania ( Lame names again..i should say..) to avenge our humiliating exit last week @ the Temasek Hall soccer Mania.
With no training or warm-up games prior to this competition , Skopet Invicta had a slow start in the competition group stage ( 8 groups of 5 ) with 1-1 draw for the first match while the other team suffered a 1-0 loss. Despite that , Skopet invicta came back strong with a brilliant comback move against the Young Sensations in the 2nd game.. A 3-1 victory. Skopet Mania consisting of many guest players failed to settle down and went through another 1-0 loss in their game. Skopet Invicta struggled against a very fluid and wonderful passing team in the 3rd match but showed character with good defending and thus won it 2-1. Yeah 7 points in the bag..And thought it was enough for us to qualify to the next round ( knockout stage). Then we realised only top of the group qualify for the quarter finals and also discover that one of the teams in our group has also 7 points but a better goal difference. That was our next opponent. So it was a do or die situation. Even if we drew , it would not be enough so we gotta win. Skopet Mania oh the other hand drew on their third match and it was all over for em. However , they thrashed their opponents 6-1 on their 4th and last match. Zai bacul scoring a Hat-trick and Herman Toyol Dermawan getting a brace..Well done guys.. go home with a high. lol..Kudos to Husni Abg Hidung for leading the team.
*yawn* Man , this type of detailed match report is just not my style..zzzz..so booooooring.
4th match - top of the group decider. Playing to win , Skopet Invitca showed why they can go all the way in the competition. Hard luck, 0-0 was the scoreline after that match. Noo! This is when the funny shit came. LOL. That team which we thought is level on points with us actually has only 4 points before that game. hahahaha, Some cock-up in the recording of the scores and points at the admin site. Adik sal being the manja one discovered this. Hahaha. Baby bear looking dejected though he looked like one of the teletubies with his new clean shaven togel look. Rudy already took off his boots while the rest of us trying to salvage watever pride by trying to seek attention from the ladies hanging ard there. LOL. All of us really thought we are done for. Oh well.. Skopet Invicta was top of their group with 2 wins and 2 draws. Wooohooo. Quarter finals here we come. Relieved and happy at the same time duh.
Our quarter final's opponent was an Indian team called themselves Aces B. Macam paham je. haha. Skopet Invicta played their usual game and almost won the game if not for the determination and solid defending of the other team. We controlled the game but again just couldn't score. Statistics showed that Team skopet has a hard time scoring when comes to the knockout stages. So 0-0 it was after 15 minutes. It was down to the penalties where as usual I converted my kick. Haha. 100% penalty conversion from the most decorated and also most capped Skopet Player. Hahaha. Ugh..bual2 world syndrome getting to me again..haiz... Fadly and Rudy managed to score while Sop Pet and Syahir Gremlin had their chances saved by the keeper. It was down to the last kicker from the other team. 3-2 it was in skopet's favour till that last kick. The opponent missed. Woot. Semi-finals!!!!
20 minutes later , we had our semi-final match. Wow. An awesome battle i should say. With both teams trying to outwit each other in the attacking department. Skopet got first blood thanks to Adik Sal's quick reaction to blast off the rebound home after good work from Sop pet at the right side. 1-0 it was halfway through the match. abis. makin manja ah budak ni..ish ish ish. Opponent tried to rely on their fast counter attack tactics but failed as myself and Prodigy Syaf giving our best to halt their attacks in the defence department. Sop pet , Asik Sal and Syahir doing the dirty work in the center of the park. Fadly harrassing the opponent's defenders with his clean shaven togel look again while Rudy looking solid guarding the goalpost. Good job boys. We deserved to be in the final. 1-0 was the final scoreline.
Finally , the final. ahha, Against the same team which we beaten last year in the 3rd and 4th placing @ the Arts Open. It was a tight match until they scored a controversial goal. Rudy saved a shot and the ball rolled on the line. Yes on the line before syaf kicked it out to safety but the ref counted it as a goal..ZZZZ...nabei condom. Rudy was fuming at the decision. Play has to carry on. A double substitution was made at our side with Saliman and Fad taking over the burnt out syahir and Sop. We got a well-deserved equaliser soon after. The game was all open again. Then another bad decision from the ref. We were supposed to get a penalty from the blatant foul on fad near in their semi circle. But luck was not on our side. Then the counter attack by the opponent caught us by suprise and they scored>< even though rudy had a hand to their final ball. Sad. We started quickly and attack after attack we conjured but time was up. 2-1 was the final score. Haiz..Oh well silver.
Well done Team Skopet Invicta. Our first silver medal. But u know what..actually silver looks good..much better than gold...haha..Pics coming up..Will be posted up soon..I guess thats the end of our 2nd season (2007-2008). Aight later guys..
