Happy 4th birthday to Skopet FC......that's right.....4th...."empet".....that's how we got the name.....n we never get to celebrate this momentous and significant 4th anniversary like our 1st 2 years cause nobody seems to bother....but i, on the other hand would like to wish this team a great 4th year....though we face adversities and yet still trying to find ourselves back in our feet...hope we will still be playing football till the day we get bloated tummies, sitting on our bare asses, laying flat on the couch wishing we could lose a few pounds......for some of us.....you're already there....

The skopet blogging team is back. Sorry folks for the long hiatus. It all started with Prem who promised to write a match report but as usual went back on his word. !@##$^

To keep u readers up-to-date, after the last emotionally charged match report by Zai, Skopet succumbed to league leaders Kawakaze 4-1 the following week at Pasir Ris. We were certainly outplayed in the first half. But the manner of the 3 goals conceeded was horrifying. 3-0 at halftime.
Secondhalf was better as we desperately searched for a way back into the game. Jiaming pulled one back from a corner and things looked promising as we initiated waves of attack. However it was not to be as their 4th goal settled the match. That loss was to be our first ever consecutive defeat since the team's formation.

Hence we had to win the next game at all cost. After three weeks of Rain-offs and match cancellations, we finally played our fifth league game at Tanglin yesterday against Eagle Boyz.
Zai opened the scoring with a tap in from Mar's pinpoint cross. Joel scored a wonderful chipped goal early in the secondhalf. The opponents pulled one back before Fad sealed the game with a tap in courtesy of Saliman's tangle with the tumbling leftback. The ref frustated us with numerous dubious calls on offside whereas Xy missed 2 sitters when he was actually onside. Nonetheless it was a good win. The team looked solid even with the long lay-off. Makeshift defence did well especially Hatta standing in at right back. As for the strikers, we have to make the chances count in the next games. Even though we have a new 100% accurate striker, Zaibacol, we need to be more ruthless in front of goal. I will try harder guys, just give me the balls.

Skopets, as suggested by retired player Syaf, we are going for this run in May 2010. Theres about 5 mornths to train. It costs $60 for individual half marathon whereas its $50 for teams of pet. (4)

yes...when we lose, win or draw....we go thru it as a team..its part of football...
nobody likes to lose...everybody wants to win..
but we can't win everything....it was just skopet's off day..but let's not take anything from our young opponents, no matter how much we hate to admit it.....respect is part of football..
there's always room for improvement and we'll learn from our mistakes....
we have our fair share of chances(i'm guilty as charge) and shortcomings(still guilty)...
but in the end, the team that took their chances and took advantage of an opportunity, in each half, wins.

From a positive note, even though we're 2-0 down, we still have the drive and desire to get back in the game. Thanks to Malik who scored a sweet volley out of a corner which evades everyone except him. I'll take a lost with try and effort rather than just "effortlessy-giving up hope" attempt. Although we could have played better, we didn't actually play badly at all.
Really hope u guys share this view.

its not about playing the best football, being the deserving winners, superiorities, having referees' decision going our way, having the best players, creating more chances and dominating games...blah blah blah...in football, you can have all that and yet lose a match....ask man utd, barcelona, arsenal,chelsea etc.
all the best teams in the world tasted defeats....who hasn't??...
the difference btween us and them is that they got pay for it...we pay to play(and that includes losing)

so let's all reflect...and improve our next game...learn from mistakes...put this disappointment aside...and let's move on and look forward to the next game...
look at liverpool..4 lose in a row, in a bad run of form + no gerrard + torres(80%) + carragher(under scrutiny from a poor form) + leiva (underachiever n not the best central mid in the team)...and yet...scored a brilliant victory against the defending EPL champions(who gracefully accept defeat like a man...kudos to that)

too bad i'm using this as an example...

Div 2 kicks off!

The new season started promisingly for skopet with maximum points and clean sheets after two games. A couple of new faces have joined us and the attendance rate is encouragingly good. Its early days yet but a good start nonetheless for us in division 2.

Skopet vs EUFC

We received our trophies before the game with EUFC captain gamely presenting it to us.
The first half ended goalless no thanks to woeful finishing. XY especially had worked himself to good one on one positions but it just wasnt going to be his day as somehow the keeper kept everything out. A defender even blocked a goalmouth 'turn and shoot' by fad. enough said.
To the bench's relief, second half hero Zaly stepped up and got us the lead after being fed through on goal. In the last 10mins Sop sealed the win with an audaciously beautiful chip over the keeper. It was an overall good team performance with lots of passing and good movement.

Skopet vs East Coast veterans

This game was won in the first half. As expected of a good veteran team, the opponents' passing was a delight to watch at times. It took some time for skopet to break their defence with a clinical finish by syahir from the left wing. Receiving a successful hollywood pass from Prem, the diminutive winger galloped to goal and wrong footed the keeper. Minutes later substitute Fad made a mess of a great opportunity but luckily managed to slide-flick the ball to double the lead. Nearing half time, XY was rewarded for his tireless efforts when he chested a cross from Zaly into goal. Second half was a different story as the veterans upped the tempo and came close to scoring twice. But our defence held firm with a disciplined solid performance. Keeper Rudy made a sensational save from a well taken free-kick to keep the clean sheet. Manager Rizman made dozens of substitutions to ensure everyone get the minutes and yet not compromising our gameplay. He converted fullbacks to wingers, Centre forward to sweeper.. all in the same game. he has definitely earned the nickname "TinkerMAN'

With many regulars out for this friendly, skopet managed to tap into our latent talent pool of usually unavailable players. The ferocious Zaly and enigmatic Aza B turned up on Saturday to complete this year's quota of appearances and extend their club membership.(friendship. lol)

Our opponent is a far cry from the SAFSA trial team of last week. The team of Chinese and Indian players looked young and not as intimidatingly organised nor technically adept. At risk of being complacent, skopet players sizing them up would be forgiven for expecting an easy win.

Nonetheless the opponents are arguably the better side in the first half with the score tied at 1-1. Their young striker rocked the crossbar late in the half with a fearsome shot that even beat Rudy. Prior to that Mahjun had scored a goal that is either a freak goal or a stroke of genius, lobbing the keeper from the right touchline in the 2/3 of the field. A brilliant solo run from their striker resulted in an equaliser which would not have gone in if AsikSal didnt "instinctively" duck from the shot.

Second half was a different story as Skopet upped the tempo. Better passing and fluid movement resulted in a second goal scored by Zaibacul, who latched onto a through ball from Syahir and coolly slot the ball past the onrushing keeper.

With that, the goals kept coming. With Zaly doing all the dirty work in midfield, Prem had the freedom to try his "hollywood" passes and initiate waves of attack. Mar and Syahir marauded the flanks and netted one each. Both scorers showed neat footwork beating at least two defenders before blasting/placing the ball home. Elsewhere Aza B made sure he was not left out of the action by typically rambutt-ing a loose ball in the penalty area into the top corner. 5-1.

At the other end, our defence held firm with Rudy following up his penalty save last week with notably 2 super saves in one-on-one situations. Rediscovering his top form, our keeper repelled all attempts by the persistent Christopher, Rizman's strike partner in the ex-jc team.

And I scored a hat-trick.

Full time, 8-1. Good workout in our last fasting match of the year.

Skopet wins Sat Div 3 title

OPOD News Center - Skopet FC won the D2D Saturday 5pm League Division 3 title after Squad Boulevard conceded a walkover against them in the last league match of the division.

Skopet FC, who were in 3rd place, 2 points behind Socceritez Utd FC and 1 behind Team Hospitality, needed to win this last game to emerge as league champions. That the win came in the form of a walkover may have been a tad disappointing for Socceritez Utd FC, but the outcome was never really in question with Squad Boulevard 2nd from bottom and lost all but 3 of their league games.

With this, Division 3 has come to a close with Team Hospitality scheduled to play in a promotion / relegation play-off against 6th placed Division 2 team Getz United this coming Saturday.

Its the much anticipated last game of a long and eventful season with its many twist and turns. I hope we have learnt from the previous league where we blew the 3pm div title and even 2nd place by one point and goal difference respectively to the cocky Buffaloes and Total Football(who by the way have secured the Div 1 title this year)

Because come Saturday, anything less than a win would mean another 'bloody close but yet so far' ending.

Admittedly its been a Jekyll and Hyde display for skopet in this 5pm league, with the worst coinciding with the loss of players key due to longterm injuries and 'disappearances'. But we have done well to keep ourselves in the running till the very last day, covering for each others' shortcomings. Kudos to all. Though 3 losses is regrettable, none of it matters when we take to the field to meet Squad Boulevard.

So Skopets and friends, turn up in full force on Saturday. Doesnt matter if you're unable to play or havent been playing.. lets just enjoy this season finale and root for the team.

The least we can do is win it for our fallen brothers, the retired syaf and rizman.

first of all...today is adik sal's birthday....he is.....21?...22?.....
25-3....yes, 22 years old...so lets wish him a very happy birthday...die sudah besar...he's old and he's matured..
in fact he's starting to grow facial hair..so take notice pple....but nevertheless, the name adik sal will stick like gecko on a wall!....anyway....good luck and enjoy being 22..

for match reports, we haven't been writing any...i'm suppose to...but i have no idea what happened in previous matches...so yarh....2 bad....but since i scored in the latest match yet vaguely remembers the whole thing..
we were suppose to have our match with asmara, but since it was a walk-over, we now have 3 points added to our tally.
which means, a win will make us CHAMPIONS....so take note on this peeps..for our upcoming match...it will be our last of the league...make time for this last one and put all our remaining efforts/strength for this big match that will lead us to our very 1st league title.

anyway, back to the report. we had a friendly with a 2nd div or 1st...whatever....and their team name is.....(-_-)....anyway, it ends up a draw, 1-1....
3/4 of a dozen of regulars turn up, with most of us half-strengthed(mauh mampos nye pancit due to fasting), but still managed to muster whatever was left, although most of us were putting up a tired performance,we still have live-wires notably XY and khaliq...we could have concede plenty of goals but it doesn't matter as we also manage to miss chances ... the opponents managed to score with a well taken freekick from close range. skopet, not convince by sitting back with a lose(even if it was a friendly and we had clinch 3 pts) try to come up with something. in the end, a nice passing movement involving prem and zai was awarded with a goal..prem slip a simpler "un-hollywood" pass to zai, one on one with the keeper and finish with a no-look goal. for the rest of the half,we managed to hold on to the result till end of the game.

so skopets, lets prepare ourself for the last hurdle of the marathon.

It has been a week, but it's never too late, Skopet wishes all Muslim players and fans alike a fruitful and blessed Ramadan.

As usual games do go on.. starting from today. Naturally we need more manpower for these games, so do bring friends who are keen to play. (and most importantly, CAN play)

Thanks to our non-muslim comrades who have dug deep into their social capital, we've got a total of 16/17 players for today's 5pm kickoff at Bishan park.

In case anyone is wondering, everything is fine with the skopet players bar longterm injuries to Syaf and Man. The team is very much alive, just that the blogging team is busy with their own personal lives and unable to update much. So ill just add in some tidbits for this post for the benefit of those who had MIA for so long. e.g what the toot happened to Jonas?

We still have a problem of ever-increasing shortage of defenders. Especially with Jiaming going to China in a few weeks time. However a couple of guest players have been adept at filling in the holes, notably Khaliq's left-back friend, erm Jamil is it? or Jamal? And our defensive tank Ahmad Faizal can commit more since he changed work schedule which is a huge bonus to our defence, which by the way is still holding on to the least conceeded goals in the league.

Prodigy-Syaf has got a job after graduation at one of the bigwigs MNC. Congrats to him.

Whereas on the flip side, Boyboyan's footballing career is in limbo after doctors concluded at the lastest scan he does not need surgery. He has estimated about 4 months till hes ready to kick a ball. bummer.

Mar made us wait for 40 mins at fico (10pm) for his friends only to finally be informed that it has been cancelled! We still have not showered him with syrup. Lucky for him its now fasting month.

Trashed 3 games in a row.

3-0, 4-1 , 6-1.

The manner of the last one, especially, is pathetic. Even though its a friendly, the aim was for a practice session for the team to prepare for the last 3 games.

In the end only 6 players. Rudy,Saliman,Faizal,Zai,Husni and Fad turned up. We had to resort to calling players we have never played with to make the numbers.

This is not the Skopet I know.

Losing Rizman and Syafii thru long term injuries is no longer an excuse. The commitment is just not there. Every week we have to find outside players just to make up a team, especially defenders. Some lack basic courtesy to reply my sms. Worse, some even cancel hours before a game.

In a competitive league this is unacceptable. Our recent results shows why.

3 more games. Still have a shot at the title.
Its a matter of wanting it or not.

Wake up or this can very well be the end of our weekend games.

Let's do this guys. Another very important game. If we win , we can top the table for the first time in the league and obviously will be very much in the driving seat for the rest of the league due to the games in hand.

Our last encounter with Socceritez was at the same venue with a come-from-behind 3-1 win. They have a good offensive frontline and can pass the ball around very well. Soccerites had played 3 games more than us and is 2 points ahead of us so they will definitely make it extremely hard for us.

Let's just do our best and get the victory.

Skopets Invicta VS Premier FC

Coming on the back of a 15-0 win over Asmara FC, Skopets' attendance was at an all time peak, which was in stark contrast to the previous meet-up where we kicked off with just 9 players, facing with an uphill climb after conceding an early goal before eventually running away with 5 goals (or was it 4???) and nil replies.

Not content with a hill, we scaled Everest this time round.

Premier FC's forward line were on a mission, like unforgiving mercenaries, and kept threatening Skopet's goalmouth with shots from all over the pitch, where one eventually trickled in, evading the goalie's reach on the right with a low, hard and precisely drilled shot.

Skopets Invicta 0 - Premier FC 1.

Skopet responded with a fight, pun intended, and managed to cause a few scares in the other half, as caretaker manager, Boyboyan, took the helm and responded with a number of substitutions, but it failed to stifle the aggression down Skopet's right flank as acting right-back, Wei Hong, tangled with Premier's intensely raged left winger.

A kick or two, bulging eyes and enraged choice of vocabularies were rightly followed by marching orders respectively, probably the only firm decision made by the referee in the whole game.

Kicks and bad tackles marred the dying moments of the first half, littered with mistimed passes and scuffed shots, but the second half proved to be a lot more eventful as Skopets raised the game only to be sucker-punched into conceding a second goal.

An interception from Premier's midfielders evolved into a swift counter attack that left Skopet's defensive line trailing from the middle of the pitch. A beauty of a shot rifled into the goal's top corner as Skopets rued earlier missed chances.

10 men on the pitch and 2 goals down, none was to expect the next turn of events.

Perhaps it was exhaustion or even complacency that plagued Premier's players but Skopets took full advantage of the given situation as they gradually dictated play and somehow forced a goal back -- the first time in the game that Skopets truly took control where in-form striker, Fadriano, pounced onto a rebound off Prem's marvelous dipping volley, heading in the goal over the onrushing goalie.

Skopets Invicta 1 - Premier FC 2.

Building up on the offensive and sacrificing the defensive lines, Skopets saw glimpses of victory when, yet again, Fadriano skipped past Premier's last man, thanks to a beauty of a through pass from Prem, and let loose a scorching shot low into the goalie's corner.

Skopets Invicta 2 - Premier FC 2, and game on.

Premier's men took the equaliser as a wake up call and started to push forward more and like Skopets, threatened on more than a few occasions to take the game away as both teams began to throw caution to the wind.

Like a well-scripted hollywood movie, it was Skopets who provided the twist in the plot as they clinched victory with, who else and yet again, Fadriano's goal. A well deserved hattrick for Fadriano, capping the day with a volley-snapshot which left the goalkeeper rooted to his spot.

Skopets Invicta 3 - Premier FC 2.

Had the referee failed to blow the final whistle I'd reckon that there could be a lot more goals coming, but the aggresively contested match soon ended amicably and thankfully in good spirits too.

The post-game atmosphere was enlightened by a Premier's representative who came down to shook hands with Skopet, in appreciation of a tight and well played game and to clear and bad air, if there were any.

Good spirits, good game and good results indeed for Skopets who leap into second place following the much toiled victory.

Next up, Team Hospitality. AND let's hope we don't have to visit the moon, after visiting Everest, this time round.

Skopet lost the plot against Jimkana losing 3-0 at woodlands sec. The day after, both skopet teams were knocked out of NSSL in the early stages.

A dark weekend for Skopet FC indeed.

But we'll be back.
Not this week though as 27th June will be our next game
Take this time to finish off whatever commitments, holiday plans, recovering fitness and whatsoever. Lets bounce back and get our title challenge back on track.

boyboyan, as some of you may know, was hit with an unfortunate injury alongside syaf.
let's just pray for speedy recovery for both our influential / impact players.
stick and stones, even potholes could break their bones but those adversities would not break their spirits.

We beat Jimkana 3-0 in the reverse fixture and this young team would want to make amends and push us all the way. Lets work hard as a team to get the 3 points and close in on the league leaders.
The return of Jonas as well as new additions Fad (another fad!) and Didi from our ally, DC http://dragonscage.mar.sg/ is a great boost given our recent spate of bad luck with injuries.

Skopet vs Team Hospitality

This game ended in a 1-1 stalemate; the first of points we dropped in the league.
We were superb in the first half, going ahead thru fad's smashing volley and maintaining a lion's share of possession throughout.
It was however a different story in the second half as we were forced to defend deep in our own half. It was team hospitality's turn to shine with their nigerian import at the heart of every attack. We kept them at bay and our strikers disappointingly failed to make most of their chances. Their goal came towards the end after Syaf and hatta were forced out of the field with a bruised back and bloodied nose and khaliq made his last bicycle kick attempt of his skopet carreer. Shotstopper Rudy made crucial saves to keep our unbeaten run intact.

This victory came with the costliest of prices as Syafii and Rizman are ravaged by what increasingly seems to be long term injuries. The potholes of Compassvale Sec are the culprits this time as both players twisted their knees whilst running at full speed. Syaf who has already had surgery on the other knee is not hoping for much since it felt similar to his last setback. Rizman on the other hand has a one month MC, pending an MRI scan late next month.
Back to the match, "player-manager" Prem scored 4 good goals to help us with a comfortable victory to compensate for an off-form strike force of Fad and Sop ; the best of which I thought was the cross-shot goal from the left wing immediately after the restart. Hatta stood firm at rightback having been given a frustrating time by a player who prefers to elbow people rather than play soccer. Kudos to him and the defence for keeping their cool and they were justly rewarded when that player was sent off. Overall a good win. Keep it up.

4th game, 4th win with 4 goals in it.
skopet fc started out with 9 men for the 1st 5-10 minutes and conceded a goal in the early period of the match. and several late comers later on join in and turn the game around. yes, blame the latecomers for the goal conceded. but they did well to redeem by providing impact and repay back the punishment to the team (which they admit that they hold responsible). after completing with an 11 men squad, skopet wasted no time to get back in the game. with several attempts of counter-attacking play, we expose the right flank frequently and finally got the reward. a great run from the right by syahir, as he cross the ball in the box and khaliq cooly knocked the ball with a half volley, enough to beat the opposition keeper. the game continued with attacks in both ends. our opponents were also trying to create chances and attempted to carve out skopet's defence with thru balls but failed to make use of it. skopet managed to find the lead before half time though. zai does well to evade challenges in the centre, delivered an over-the-top thru ball that eludes the opponent and manage to find sop. sop does well to keep the ball even though he was somehow forced out to the left flank. a delightful cross in the box and fadly connects with his left, finding the tp[ left corner.

2nd half, our opponents continued with waive of attacks as skopet soaked the pressure and try to hit on the break. in the end, it worked when one of their attacks was scuffled, and rizman managed to beat the keeper. 3-1. the awareness of the defence and the keeper did well to make sure we didn't concede anymore for the rest of the game. intention of stamping authority was evident from the beginning. even with our wingers, mar and syahir, showing ruthless aggression.

1. Happy Belated Birthday to the very vocal Rudy (Dig Di Di), master tactician of the team. Skopet wishes our reliable VCapt all the best in his endeavours. May you be blessed with good health and have all your wishes granted. ok only the good ones. And good luck in your new career as (teacher/police?) Here's to more clean sheets to come.

2. LATECOMING. Serious issue here. Started with 9 men. Didnt help when we conceeded an early goal no thanks to the numerical disadvantage. Please come on time for the next and every game. Ideally 4.30pm. Sometimes it cant be helped due to work, but pls try your best.
And some pple are even slowly walking to the pitch when their team is already playing.. watthetoot?

3. Forgetting things. Some of things left behind are, Shin-pads, jersey no, 6 and no, 17.

Fine Run Continues...

Skopet FC maintained their winning form in their second league season with an impressive 3-1 victory over Squad Boulevard who remained at the bottom of the table after the loss.
From the way the match started, it looked as if nothing could separate the two teams, with both teams creating their fair share of chances. Squad Boulevard's defensive four held up pretty well against Skopet's relentless attacks, while the resilience of Skopet FC's back four forced Squad Boulevard to only manage long shots at goal from midfield.
Half-way into the first half, it was Skopet FC who drew first blood. The resistance put up by Squad Boulevard's defence finally broke. A weak clearance found right-winger Syahir just inside the penalty box, who took a half-volley at the bouncing ball to put the ball into the bottom right corner of the post, beyond the keeper's reach. A well-taken goal! The score remained as both teams head for the dug-out at half-time.
The second half saw Skopet FC starting very strongly, with Skopet FC's skipper, Fadly, coming close to double his team's lead after some fine work down the flank by injured-yet-still-play-like-there's-no-problem Rizman, who was on left-wing duty. Squad Boulevard, unnerved by the strong start by Skopet FC, capitalized on the chance presented to them by launching an immediate counter-attack. The swift counter-attack certainly stunned Skopet FC's defence into making an error, leaving Squad Boulevard's striker through on goal against Rudy. The front-man wasted no chance at all as he wrong-footed Skopet FC's custodian to bring the scores back to parity.
The goal certainly rose Squad Boulevard's confidence and many would have expected them to take the game to Skopet FC. However, Skopet FC were just as determined to maintain their winning streak in the league, and with that they continued the strong start they made in the second half. Skopet FC's left-winger, Rizman, was giving Squad Boulevard's right-back a torrid time and his efforts were soon rewarded. After shaking off his marker with his sublime skills and speed, Rizman sent in a delicious cross which found Skopet FC's skipper, Fadly, who ensured that he made no mistakes this time as he added one more to his goal tally and put Skopet FC on course for another victory.
From then on, it was cruise control for Skopet FC as they easily broke Squad Boulevard's attacks and continue to mount pressure on Squad Boulevard's goal in search of the goal to put the match in the bag. Frustration slowly crept into the ranks of Squad Boulevard. Mistakes became rampant as they tried to bring the game back to life. It was only a matter of time before Skopet FC got the goal that ended the match. Again, Skopet's in-form player of the match, Rizman, turned provider after making a fine overlapping run from his left-back position. The squared ball found Skopet FC's makeshift striker, Khaliq, unmarked in the middle of the six-yard box with only the keeper to beat. With time and space on his side, Khaliq picked a spot on the opponent's goal before firing the ball past the keeper for his first goal of the season and Skopet FC's third, putting the match beyond doubt.
Squad Boulevard's frustration finally became evident and got the better of one of their players after two successive yellow cards saw him heading for an early shower. Kudos to the two central midfielders, Hatta and Prem, for keeping their heads after ending up on the receiving end of the departed player's frustration.
Minutes later, the final whistle was blown. A well-taken victory for Skopet FC which certainly put them in a comfortable position to mount a serious title challenge.

Friendly May Day Warm-Up

skopet fc just secured a 4-1 victory against team......eeeeeerr....against some team at this forsaken and isolated location at xinmin sec(hougang)....i mean honestly..i dont even know theres a place called hougang in singapore.

anyway, its a jerkyl and hyde performance by skopet. it was an emphatic 1st half, after gradually building our tempo, we finally got our feet in the game with constant support of flying fullbacks (syaf and mantanahmerah) and with our normal passing game. but the 1st goal we've got was a gifted one. the opposition's keeper weak throw only managed to found fadly who pounce a header into the back of the net. the celebration was wild as the whole hougang area heard the roar of the bear. minutes later, it was skopet's latest signing, juff, who had his 1st goal for skopet. a lovely cross from the left flank by mar...or was it syaf??.....found juff in the box, who clinically finished it with a half volley. 2-0....fadly adds his tally to a brace and honestly, i really forgot on how he came up with it and i couldn't came up with a reason how i forget tt one or for those other accounts. anyway, its not that significant cause nobody cares about the 249th skopet goal.
but what matters is that a landmark historical goal was made. a thru ball by arfan to the on-rushing zaibeloni on the right flank. he cuts in a pass towards juff who managed to nutmeg the keeper for the 4th goal of the day, but more importantly, skopet's 250th goal...what a way to score a landmark goal eh...eh???....EH???.....,
2nd half however, most of the players were lethargic and fatigued . we put on a tired performance and conceded a goal. but the damage was already done in the 1st half and the defence manage to hold on till the end despite the burn out. plus whats more important its that we get the momentum going for next week league match.

3rd BBQ

yes pple its that time of the year again. Although June is still a month away.. we need to plan now.

First of all.. two options.. (1) Chalet or (2) just a BBQ pit at East Coast?

If we go with (2).. problems solved.. but we'll be at the mercy of the june weather.

If we go for the former.. its going to be tricky. I can get civil servants' rates at Aloha chalets but.. its a bit late and many slots are already taken cos its super peak period.

So we might have to compromise and be ready to accept any of these conditions.

1. Settle for Aloha Changi, which is quite ulu. (but boyboyan can look for nearby changi village bapoks)
2. Hold it on a weekday.(june hols but how many of us are still in sch anyway)
2. Do it on a May weekend instead. (cheaper)

Skopet FC 5-1 Premier FC

A Fadly Bear's hat-trick and a goal each from Xia Yue and Boyboyan helped Skopet FC overcome hapless Premier FC at Woodlands Sec. It was one of the best overall perfomance from Skopet FC for a long time worthy of a thrilling victory.

Premier FC was expected to seriously trouble the Skopet's defence after scoring a whopping 17 goals in their last 3 games.

They did start very brightly in the opening exchanges. However they failed to make most of their chances.Skopet FC too was looking jaded and almost lazy-looking then but they had their fair share of possession and good football in the early stages. Sticking to their 'soak and strike' gameplan , Skopt FC slowly dominate the game and should have taken the lead through XY after a long ball from Syafii to bypass the whole Premier FC's defensive backline. Woeful finishing at the last second let XY down. Man of the match Syahir was lively at the left wing and was always tormenting the Premier FC's rightback with his quick feet and darting runs.

For all their dominance and good built up , Skopet FC was very awful in their final ball and finishing. XY hit the post while Fadly squandered a glorious chance after Boyboyan flighted a menacing cross into the box. Instead Premier FC via a counter attack and a misjudgment from Skopet centerback Jonas ,took the lead halfway through the 1st half. Skopet's midfield was nowhere in sight to provide cover as the whole defensive department was overwhelmed.

It was a nightmare for Skopet FC but they showed no signs of discomfort and quickly got back into the game. An exquisite moment of genius just 2 minutes after Premier's goal set the tone for a domineering Skopet perfomance; Syahir skipped past 2 players at the left flank before releasing a defence-splitting pass to XY whose first touch was even more fantastic to create space for himself and away from the incoming defenders. XY ended the excellent Skopet build-up play with a cool finish to the bottom corner. It was all Skopet then as Premier FC's rightback continue to have a torrid time handling the in-form and skillful Syahir. Somehow the half ended with the score at just 1-1.

SKopet FC was clearly in the mood and the laid-back looking Premier FC side were always in danger of being overrun. Indeed,just 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Captain Fad got a goal from a well delivered set-piece. He did well to lose 2 of his markers defenders to head the ball home from close range. After the 2nd goal,Skopet FC was again in the ascendency and the third killer goal seemed to be only a matter of time. Mar and Boyboyan were finding all kinds of space after good work from the 2centermids Khaliq and Prem. Skopet went close on many occassions but it was another set piece in which Prem again as the provider ,floated a delicious ball into the ball which found Fad at the far post to head the ball to the back of the net.

Soon Fadly again sauntered into enemey's territory ,and drove an unstoppable low pile-driver into the bottom left corner after he latched onto a mistake by a Premier FC defender to complete his hat-trick.Premier FC would have been upset to see the goal after losing possession cheaply at the edge of the penalty box. Skopet FC continued to pose problems for Premier FC but again the final ball was sorely lacking. As Skopet tinkered a bit with their formation with a few substitutions and sub-consciously reverted to a more defensive style to hold the 3 goal lead , it was five as Boyboyan blasted a a rather tame ball goalwards 40 metres from a freekick.Premier FC goalkeeper shockingly failed to get the ball under control after maybe a wicked bounce off the pitch as the ball trickled into the back of the net. It was his last meaningful contribution before Syahir took his place.

Needless to say , the match was over as a contest and indeed it slowed down as both sides make a series of changes. They were still a few chances from both sides though as Skopet goalkeeper Rudy got to make a wonderful save after Premier FC breached the defence through the center. Syahir failed to connect a shot from just inside the box but it did not matter.

Premier FC could have no complaints as Skopet FC was clearly the better side and it was definitely an entertaining game for both sides to say the very least.

We will be slightly dissappointed to not keep a clean sheet. However let's just savour the very great start of the new league season. As I always say , well done boboys. Haha.

Arriving earliest, at about 3.45pm, I had a good look at the 2 'veteran' teams that were playing at the same venue as us. Their passing was wayward, their movements sluggish and their general outlook, well they looked veteran indeed.

Well our opponent, Jimkana, looked nothing of that sort as they arrived as 1 humongous youthful group, strolling into Yio Chu Kang secondary.

They appeared content, relaxed and compared with my Skopets, where only a handful were present at that time, I guiltily thought that we were going to be done for by their speed and movements.

Deprived of our black jerseys, Skopets made do with white, and I suppose that it was a good thing as White didn't absorb as much heat as Black does, on a heaty afternoon.

The first half kicked off frantically, as Jimkana closed down Skopets' spaces quickly, breaking attacks after attacks more often than it could be finished off.

Jimkana countered swiftly, as expected and almost nicked in with an opening goal as well, but no thanks to some rugby-like finishing, and, ahem, good goalkeeping.

A good game was brewing and it deserved to be rewarded with a goal,which duely arrived. Gratuitously, it was in Skopets favour.

A beautifully flighted left foot curler from Syaffie evaded everyone, but the posts. It was like watching a slow-motion replay, as the ball caressed the back of the net. 1-0 to Skopets, and soon after, the half time whistle was blown.

The second half promised more action from both set of teams, as Skopets obligingly stepped up another gear, passing the ball around and across the pitch, looking for that final pass. Meanwhile, Jimkana harrassed constantly, and threw everything they could to stop us.

Open play proved to be frustrating for Skopets, whom eventually extended the lead via a corner from the right. The cross wasn't cleared far enough, landing at Mar's feet at the edge of the box, who then gleefully controlled it for a moment before letting fly a chip-shot which float-lobbed above the Jimkana's goalie, and into the net. 2-0 to Skopets, and silence gripped Jimkana's players.

The goal appeared to break their resistance as Skopets extended their lead further.

Next up, pun intended, was Fad with a well placed header, again from a scrumptuous, pin-point corner delivery, thanks to Prem, guiding it into the back of the net. 3-0 to Skopets. Good goal.

Skopets fourth and last goal came curtesy of a miscontrol from Jimkana's centreback. Harassed by the tall and gangly Juffry, one of Skopets new additions, the centreback pushed the ball away only to be intercepted by Mar, who squared the ball towards the path of onrushing XY, who slid the ball past the flailing Jimkana keeper. 4-0 and you'd thhought it was game over.

It only spurred Jimkana for a fightback. Credit to them for not taking things lying down, as they pushed forward towards the end of the game, and even earning themselves a penalty, which was woefully thrashed above the bar unfortunately.

Jimkana's late rush, though aplaudable, didn't really matter in the end as Skopets held firm for a 4-0 season-greeting, moral-boosting win, in the inaugural 3rd Division of D2Dsports's Saturday 3-5pm League.

Despite the haul of goals, there are still plenty of areas and aspects of play which Skopets can definitely improve and built upon, but for the moment, we'll be more than content to bask in the aftermath of this recent victory.

Last game of the season Skopet 8 - 1 Dirty Dozen.

We missed out on second place by 3 goals. And lost the league by 1 points.

To add salt to injury the organiser says only division 3 has a vacancy. Meaning our rivals total football and buffalos play in div 1, while Cheshire and westlanders who finished below us play in division 2.

but who cares. We just want to have our weekly fix of competitive football. If we have to start frm the bottom so be it right guys. Lets prove our worth and climb to the top.
The plus side is the div 3 is made up of mostly teams new to this league. So they could be anything. Ah the thrill..

Skopet 2 - 5 Buffalos

In the end we failed to make it count when it really mattered. Skopet was beaten comprehensibly by newly crowned league champions, Team buffalo. The margin of defeat might be a shock but we were definitely off-colour that day. Curse the long break or whatever you want, but there can be no excuses as the better team won on Saturday(however arrogant they can be).

So a win against Dirty Dozen nxt week will draw us level on points with 2nd-placed Total Football. However their better goal difference condemns us to a third spot finish, even if Boyboyan insist its still mathematically possible to overtake TF.. how? by winning by abt 7 goals in the last game? lol. (kau ingat winning 11 kape?)

Ok we may have lost the league. tough luck. but chins up guys. I think we've put in a decent performance in our maiden league foray so far since the opening day loss to total football. I can see that this league side is really starting to gel. Im sure you've all enjoyed the experience and of course learnt much.

Lets cap our season with a final win against Dirty dozen. And get ready for the next season which by the way has already started. More hard work awaits us every saturday 3/5pm. And tougher opponents await!
*We might be in division 3. Im hoping we get to playoff for 3rd promotion slot.

Apologies to the fans for not putting up the match report for the previous friendly. Haha. Indeed it was a below-par perfomance from Skopet FC's sister team Wanbaiwek FC where they suffered a 3-2 defeat. It's their 2nd successive defeat in friendlies

However on a serious note , the decisive league match for the championship against Team Buffalo has been been put on hold to another day. Thus no league game this Saturday but Captain Fad managed to organise a friendly in place of the postponed match. Let's treat this as a warm up match or even take it as another league match to gain momentum for next week's fixture.

Some analysis from the league table - Assuming our closest rival , Total football achieve maximum points from their last game against Cheshire United , Skopet FC will need 6 points from their last 2 games regardless of the other results to obtain the coveted top spot for their debut league venture. But then again Cheshire has still everything to play for and it is still mathematically possible for them to win the league title.The outcome of the Cheshire and Total Football match would definitely add spice to the closing stages of the league.

No league game today due to the engagement of fellow skopetian Ahmad Tempe. Ooops. Haha. No matter what congrats bro. Keep in mind this friendly was organised so as to maintain our so called match fitness if we have it in the first place. Haha. What with's the team name then u say? Hahaha. Oh its our renegade 'mish-mash' team. Plenty of core players going to sit this out one due to commitments so expect the players playing tommorow to be out of position , out of breath, out to impress and even out just to have fun. Haha. Watever it is , it's to keep the momentum going for the league that's about to end.

And well some of us are going to play court soccer in the morning part @DC (Dragon's cage ) notably myself , Syahir , Fad , Azhar , Herman and Mar. More are invited to join of course. Those interested can just give any of us a call. Reminder to Azhar Babat - remember to bring along your boots and match jersey tmr as no boots = no admission to DC (only applicable to him). Skopet FC 6 - 1 Woodlandvista WV

Skopet FC's attacking talent was at its creative best as a devastating perfomance saw the in-form side register their biggest win in the league which they smashed six past struggling Woodlandvista WV.

Woodlandvista WV was expected to seriously challenge Skopet FC after their strong perfomance against Westlanders last week but it was Skopet who dominated the early exhanges and was rewarded early when Fad opened the scoring after about 5 minutes. A vital interception in the middle of the park allowed Mar to flick a through ball to Fad who duly slotted the ball home with a nice lob over the rushing Woodlandvista goalkeeper. Skopet ,boosted by that goal , continued to surge forward in numbers on more than one occasion and Syahir doubled the advantage minutes later with a close range strike from a corner. Despite all Woodlandvista's efforts to work themselves into the contest, Skopet maintained their dominance over the game and should have tripled their lead. Fad failed to control the rebound after crashing his first shot straight onto the goalkeeper while Boyboyan's strike hit the woodwork soon after. Zai Bacul , in for Khaliq , scored his first league goal from his 2nd touch of the ball. With a good first touch to control the ball just outside the box , he did well to blast the ball to the bottom left corner despite pressure from the opposition. Skopet FC was cruising then.

Woodlandvista finally got themselves into it as the clock approached the half hour mark to reduce the 3 goal deficit with a moment of briliance from their striker. It was a deft flick over the veteran sweeper Syaf to get the ball over to his teammate who wasted no time slotting it home despite the attempts of Rudy and Jason to get another clean sheet. That's how it ended as Skopet took a 2 goal advantage into the half time interval.

Woodlandvista got the 2nd half underway and began to mount the pressure on the Skopet's defence but it was Skopet who got their 4th goal against the run of play. Mar went onto a solo run through the middle before releasing a well placed shot at the top right. The goalkeeper stood no chance. It was all Skopet over the rest of the game. Left back Jonas was lively thoughout with his overlapping runs at the flanks and it was not long before he was involved in the 5th goal. Sop latched onto Jonas's cross cum shot for a simple tap in. Syaf was denied by the woodwork twice when he played as the left wing and Sop had a goal disallowed for offside. Both of the skopet forwards had half chances after good work from the midfielders especially from Khaliq and Adik Sal and just when it looked like it could not possibly get any worse for Woodlandvista , Sop earned a penalty which Boyboyan converted to complete the convincing rout.

This win puts Skopet FC right back into the title race with only 2 games remaining. We can only wait for other results to find out the final standings for the teams in the league table. Just take note our next league game will only be after 2 weeks or 14 march to be exact.

Woodlandvista WV will be looking to follow up their win over Westlanders last weekend with a victory against high-flying Skopet FC. However Skopet FC has not lost or draw in the league since the opening day loss and will be seeking their 6th win in a row. It's a battle between an in-form side against a team who just got their season on track following a bad run in the last few games.

So yeah guys , lets win this one and get the vital 3 points since we want to exert the pressure on table-topper Team Buffalo in the league who will face another undefeated team ,Total football. It would definitely be an interesting clash.

Captain Fad stated that we had a friendly with Woodlandvista WV before in December - the one @ Bendemeer Sec. The team consisted of veterans and we struggled then to achieve a lacklustre 2-0 win. We shall give our best to be victorious again by playing better football this time around.

Skopet FC 2-0 Sing Ming Spiders

Skopet FC comfortably saw off Sing Ming Spiders in the 6th league match in a win that proved more comfortable than the final score suggests. XY linked superbly with Boyboyan to allow the speedy striker to open the scoring with a well-placed header and XY himself doubled the advantage with an intelligent goal to grab all the 3 points.

Sing Ming Spiders started brightly and they should perhaps given themselves the lead after Sk0pet FC failed to clear the ball out of the box from a corner. One of the lurking Sing Ming Spiders's midfielder had half a yard of space and steered his ferocious shot on goal but was repelled by a terrific instinctive body block by Zai Bacol who immediately subbed himself out due to the pain. However, despite the sluggish start and horrible afternoon heat , it was all Skopet with their attacking players making their intentions known with all the through balls and wing play. Boyboyan ,supplied by Adik Sal on the right flank , delivered a cross towards Fad who got himself free of the defenders only to fumble the chance at the last second. Skopet moved up a gear and within minutes almost find the breakthrough. Zai bacol released the ball early after a crucial interception in the middle of the park to reach Boyboyan who squandered the glorious chance by shooting wide with his weaker left foot. Syahir was as his usual self at the left flank but was quickly shut down by the impressive Sing Ming's defence.

After creating next to nothing in the exhanges that followed , Sing Ming Spiders controlled the last 10 minutes of the first period with plenty of possession football only to be occasionally disrupted by Skopet attacking players to get to the end of Rudy's drop kicks. The half drifted to a tame conclusion and the score was locked at 0-0.

It was an altogether a more dangerous offensive Skopet FC that took to the field for the 2nd half with Fad bear introducing Sop and debutant Fariz at the break to stimulate the attacking talent of the team. Prem led the characteristic break forward and fed Fariz on the right. His cross found only BoyBoyan who managed to skip past 2 defenders and sent his effort straight at Sing Ming goalkeeper. Boyboyan was in rampaging form down the right using his pace and trickery to get a yard of space away from the defender and smashed the ball goalwards only to see it rattled the crossbar. He got himself another opportunity moments later but woeful finishing let him down again.

Skopet enjoyed a significant spell of pressure and XY got a good break at the left side but he was superbly denied by the Sing Ming Spider's goalkeeper at his near post. Sing Ming Spiders could not get their rythm and was on the backfoot to try contain Skopet's onslaught.Fariz and Sop thrived at the wings as Mar protected the backfour and Prem calmed the game down with his intelligence. It was not long before the deadlock was broken. Fariz embarked on a fine run at right side taking on a defender before releasing the ball to XY. He delivered a pinpoint cross to the misfiring Boyboyan in the box who headed the ball home. Skopet raised their game even more after the goal by laying siege on Sing Ming's backfour. Prem's vision enabled him to float a delightful through ball over the left side and beyond the reach of Sing Ming's rightback to send the hardworking Weihong through on goal. However he failed to see the incoming strikers in the box and instead tried to poke the ball at the near post but his ball was comfortably parried away by the goalkeeper for a corner.

Waves of Skopet attacks continued to break against the Sing Ming's defensive wall. Sop's dancing feet created space on the left side again , bustled into the box and striked a low crisp shot with his favourite right foot but the ever-busy Sing Ming goalkeeper was equal to it. The killer goal came with only a few minutes remaining. Adik sal surged through the middle and found XY free on the right side. XY brought the ball into the box and spotting the goalkeeper way off the line , calmly sent his shot to the back of the net. Good goal. Well done.

With the win , Skopet FC extended their unbeaten run in the league to 5 games and got themselves their 3rd clean sheet. Much appreciation goes to Rudy and co (Syafii ,Montero , Jonas , Weihong and Jiaming ) for keeping the skopet defence tight and solid .Everyone is incredible so far in the league. Its a team effort as everybody especially the midfielders who diligently track back to support the defence and at the same time complement the strikers when we go on the offensive. And lastly credit to the strikers who have done an exceptional job to get the goals.What can I say? I love u all. haha.

We are expected to ease to victory and see through to a fifth successive win over struggling league counterpart ,Sing Ming Spiders, on Saturday afternoon based on the last few results but they are a credit to themselves by giving the stronger teams a run for their money and they will do anything they can to cause an upset. Of course guys ,we are heading to into the game in search of all 3 points. The goals have been flying as we scored in each of the 5 matches and we have one of the meanest defence so far in the league conceding only just 5. With our strikers in a rich vein of form scoring 10 out of the 13 goals ,expect them to fire up the goal tally.

Skopet FC 3-1 Cheshire United

Skopet FC laboured to an inspiring and vital win over Cheshire United , thanks to goals from Boyboyan , Fad bear and Jiaming. Both the team went into the match knowing that only a win would allow them to keep up with the Saturday 3pm social league leaders , Team buffalo.

With playmaker Joel out, Mar was given the oppurtunity to play as a defensive playmaker and had a positive impact on the match.Both sides saw plenty of the ball in the opening exchanges without creating any clear cut chances. Cheshire tactics was predictable - They were looking for their right winger at every oppurtunity. Skopet FC man of the match , Weihong held firm and halted any attacks that came from that side. Skopet FC piled on the pressure by feeding the balls to adik sal and Syahir who used their pace to stretch the Cheschire's fullbacks and managed some dangerous crosses into the 6 yard box for the strikers to pounce on.Both Boyboyan and XY had half chances early on but despite the space on offer in midfield provided , Prem and Mar could not quite break through with their routine through balls. Syahir came close not long after the ball fell to him with only the keeper to beat after Boyboyan's mazy dribble in the box. Hard luck. Syahir's shot was saved easily by the giant Cheshire's goalkeeper.Skopet FC was gaining in confidence and attack with more intent almost exclusively through Prem who ran half the field and unleashing a menacing shot outside the penalty box but the goalkeeper was more than up to it.On the half hour mark , Jiaming got the ball into the net with a delicious shot after good interplay at the right side. Well done boy - his first goal for Skopet FC.

It was far from one-way traffic however with cheshire whipping in dangerous crosses into the Skopet's box and using their physical presence to make a nuisance out of themselves to trouble the Skopet's defence. Adik sal cleared one ball of the line from one of the multiple corners and Syaf and Jonas had to make last ditch tackles to preserve Skopet's lead.The half petered out to an uninspiring close with both teams managing to negate each other's attack easily.The first half thus ended on a 1-0 advantage to Skopet FC.

Changes were made during half time. Sop Pet replaced the exhausted but on-form Adik Sal. XY and syahir made way for Fad bear and Calvin to try increase the lead.Cheshire started the 2nd half in lively fashion forcing many corners in the opening minutes.Cheshire seemed to lack the finishing touch. However Skopet FC were not complaining and got the 2nd goal courtesy of a counter attack. Boyboyan as always exploiting his pace got to the end of a marvelous through ball at the right wing from Prem before unleashing a delicate pin-point cross that evaded everybody for Fad bear to head home.Good goal. That was supposed to settle Skopet a bit but Cheshire got none of that. Their tactics and motif to the game was still prevalent. SKopet's defensive backline was equal to Cheshire's crossings and Cheshire was venting their frustrations on the referee for all the fouls that came.Cheshire began to dictate the play from midfield and after inflicting intense pressure through the center , Cheshire got a goal back due to a lack of concentration from Rudy.For a while , Skopet looked shocked and it took a while to regroup and create some chances. The 2 goal lead was restored via a quick freekick in the middle of the pitch. Boyboyan got the better of the stagnant Cheschire back four and the offside trap.The last Cheschire defender did well to recover but Boyboyan still managed to get the ball into the back of the net thanks to one of his trademark shot from his street soccer repertoire.

Despite violent and vulgar protests for offside from Cheshire United , the goal stood. Tempers were flaring soon after the 3rd goal.Kudos to the referee who maintained his composure and kept his head literally to still have a firm control on the remainder of the game. Skopet reverted to a defensive 4-5-1 formation with the inclusion of Zai bachol, Husni and Ahmad faisal.Eventually,Skopet hung out for another satisfying victory despite Cheshire's best intentions. It was a convincing perfomance as Skopet FC continue to keep the pressure on the top of the league table.

The league website has not been updated so we are not sure about the other results of the other league games. But we can safely assume we are currently 2nd in the table from last week results.It was just one of those games we needed to win and we did just that. Well done boboys. I love u all.

Skopt FC 3 - 0 Westlanders United

3 lucky goals was enough for Skopet FC to secure 3 vital league points against Westlanders United on last Saturday afternoon @ First Toa Payoh Sec.

We had the first opportunity of the match in the opening exhanges of the match in the form of a free kick just outside the penalty box. Prem delivered a 'cross' into the box only to see the ball evade everybody and into the top left hand corner of the goal. LOL. Yeah rite. hahaha.As they always say , a goal is a goal. That settled us down and Adik Sal had a few chances on the right flank with a few shots which bring out the best from the acrobatic high flying Westlanders United goalkeeper. Westlanders to their credit did extremely well to stifle the creativity of the likes of Prem and Khaliq and as a result there was precious little in the way of chances from the middle of the pitch. It was a rather tame attack from our side through the center and had to rely on the flanks to look for the goals. Boyboyan and Fad bear missed many glorious chances in the box after some wonderful crosses. One particular memorable miss was that of Fad who mistimed his kick at the edge of the goal with no one to guard the goal. haha. He got OLE-ed instead by the cross. hahaha. In disgust he subbed himself out. Skopet got a goal from another set piece but the goal was ruled out for offside despite protests. The rest of the half was a scrappy affair littered with countless free-kicks and throw-in the middle of the park.

The first quarter of the 2nd half was fairly tame with no real chances from either side. Boyboyan was lively though exploiting his pace to get the better of Westlanders back four and XY did remarkably well to harrass the defenders but lacked the finishing bite. Khaliq feeling the effects of the slip in the first half got replaced by Joel. Skopet went to attack mode with Joel's introduction and he was in all kinds of space as he crossed many through diagonal balls to adik sal and mar on the wings. Boyboyan's last contribution before being subbed by Fad was a lay off from the left side which had one of the Westlander's defender struggling to clear the ball out of the box. Prem menacing shot was parried away back to him who took another lash at the ball only for goalkeeper to punch it away to safety.

The resulting corner led to Skopet's 2nd goal although it was a messy affair. Saliman who had a very good game whipped in a corner and XY managed to get a low shot after the scramble in the box.Weihong got booked after an aggresive tussle with one of the Westlanders player not long after.Skopet came close many times but it was only after one of the Westlander player got an immediate sending off for a kungfu kick to Skopet's goalkeeper , Rudy Dramawan , Skopet piled on the pressure to increase the goal-tally. Fad bear finally got the 3rd goal after good interplay with Adik sal on the left side. Another ugly goal but nonetheless a goal.

Well done boys especially to Vindu and his brother Calvin who had a decent game and not forgetting Syaf who managed a full game after half a year of rehabilation for the ligament tear on his knee. An exceptional perfomance from the veteran to get a clean sheet.

With the win Skopet got into 3rd place in the league after 4 games.

1. A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year to skopet's Choon, Jiaming, Xia yue, Jonas, Weihong and Jason. Belated again.. I know. Please collect your hong baos from CO Finance Boyboyan.

2. Happy Birthday to Mar! oh no belated again. Yes the handsome abang with lebat chest hair is now a sexy 27 yrs old. Best wishes from the team and may you long continue lending your wisdom and experience to Skopet FC. haha.

3. Last league game against mavericks : 3-2. Blew a 2 goal lead (rizman,senthil) by half time. Prem netted the winner in 2nd half. 2 yellow cards to sop and fad, admittedly horrible tackle. Like Joel used to say, "they like to go down so much give properly ah". 2 penalties conceeded, One converted. Three points to skopet. 4th in the league. and life goes on.

4. Last Sat's friendly: Disappointing 3-1 loss. Dominated proceedings. Defensive errors. Blunt strikeforce. Pulled a goal back courtesy of Fad before opponents sucker punched the 3rd goal while we were laying siege on their goal. positives : played an attacking game. unlucky not to score on countless occasions. And of course.. The Return of The Prodigy Syaf. Rehabilitating his way to fitness. Played 15 mins and emerged unscathed. Well done.

Just a reminder we drew 1-1 on our first encounter with the Mavericks and won 4-2 on the 2nd one so this will be the 3rd time the 2 teams will face off. Our opponent is looking to get back on track after a not-so-good start to their league debut. Expect a tough fight on this one.

I am not sure about the line-up on this one but from what I heard plenty can't make it so it's up to the rest coming to shine. Lets just do our best and get the precious 3 points.

Some logistics issues. I know it's hard for some of u guys esp to those who are still schooling but we are getting another set of jerseys. (away kit ). Its white with green at the sides - just like our black jersey but different colour. If it's not too hard , pls try to bring in 25 bucks tomorrow.We will confirm again the sizes and numbers after the league game.

Crazy amount of goals. Wowie. And there's one game where there is 7 red cards!! Wholesome. Happening.

A very good perfomance from Skopet FC as a whole. The new additions clicked well with the team. We could have tried to get as many goals as possible during the game after leading 3-0 at half-time but woeful finishing let us down. haha.. Haiz..Our captain marvel got his 50th Skopet goal and debutant Xia Yue got a brace. Lovely goals.

Ah one more thing. Everyone should know this bah. Haha. Since its a league , we should go for a win every match of course. So playtime for each individual varies especially with many reserves. As they always say . the team comes first . If let's say u never get to play at all during one of the matches , try to understand etc etc. But so far everyone who came got to play even its was for a few minutes. Hopefully that would be the case. Same thing apply for the substitutions , just obliged if u are taken out during the course of the game. Be more 'pro'. Hah. Xie xie.

League Edition

Skopet started the new season on the wrong foot having been beaten by the youthful, Tohari Pajian-led team, Total Football. The score was 2-1 with Boyboyan netting the consolation goal.

Despite the lost, the mood was definitely fantastic and things seemed more 'pro' with everyone donning the skopet jersey(no more guest players with own shirts) and having a prodigy manager on the bench. And almost everyone came in time for the team warm-up. Let me point out that with the exception of Mar who is from work, the rest shouldnt miss it. We'll always start half an hour before kickoff, so pls note.

In all honesty the opponents weren't the best we've had. But fitness-wise we were pwned. Well they took their chances and thus deserved the 3 points. Our defence worked their socks off and held the attacks well but our offense was err.. blunt.

A few players pointed out during the after-action-review that our compact defense formation was taking a toll on our wingers who are unfit enough to fulfil that role. I understand the concerns but to push it to them would be unfair. Centremids and Forwards and everyone else.. (isnt that everyone).. shouldnt we be defending and attacking together? I saw Jiaming overlapping all the way to the touchline and prem playing him the ball, which is good, in the first half. hmm perhaps that explains the cramp? hah.
Anyway if all of us are more composed, run more, hold the ball better, find space better yadda yadda yadda.. i think we can even win a game with a 6-3-1 formation haha.

All im saying is we cant blame the formation, guys. You can blame the referee, the pokok, the irritatingly noisy opponent's coach, or wateva haha. at the end of the day as soccer players we should be able to adapt and play in any way required and of course fitness has to be there. So this thing that you're concerned with.. we just need to get used to it. Take this as a learning point. Our goal. To be resolute in defence and discover our attacking verve. 8 more games to go. No worries, we WILL get it right. haha. oh and thank god for rolling subs.

Skopet FC struggled to win against a team which consisted of mostly veterans. I can't believe we never even ask what was their team name.Haha. It was just one of those games we just need to win.

We started with the traditional 4-4-2 formation to size up our opponent. We had our chances but both sides were 'toothless' in their attacks and kept losing possession after every few successful passes. With that , Prodigy Syaf who was managing the team from the bench decided to add more 'teeth' to our attack by deploying me who was playing leftback then to a striker role.LOL. A suicidal 3-4-3 attacking formation was adopted towards the end of the first half but still to no avail. The score was tied at 0-0 at the interval.

We started the 2nd half with more urgency after the team talk. Since i was so called put into the striking department , the whole team wanted me to score. Haha. Haiz. We attacked with more conviction to get that goal but after 1001 offsides and a few decent chances , we got our goal courtesy of a left footed curling volley from our own beloved Boyboyan. woooot. haha. yeah yeah. U guys think it was side netting and it was a lucky shot but as they said a goal is a goal. That settled us down a bit and not long Sop pet hit the woodwork .Captain Fad did well harassing the opponent's defence but he got to wait till the next match to get his 50th goal. Kudos to the midfielders and defenders especially mar and zai who worked hard to cover the void created by the offensive players. I got my brace a few minutes later. The opponent's offside trap failed and I got myself free at the left flank. A simple goal from a 1 on 1 situation with the goalkeeper. Somehow the opponent picked up the pace and we were at the backfoot defending our 2 goal lead. Reverted to a 4 man defence soon after and held on for the win.

Well done guys.

Ugh. yawn. I know. A boring match report. hahaha. But u know what. Captain Fad will come up with the new year's speech and how he overcame the odds to emerge as a true champion in the challenge issued by the Skopet ladies in their signature game. Hahaha. That would be interesting. Hmm. LOL.I guessed the roti boyans that i made with tender loving care had something to do with it or wearing the same type/brand of pants was the key. Ok that sounds gay. Hahahaha. Anyway on behalf of the skopet guys who were tanning in the sun at ECP yday , thank you for the fun and laughter , ladies.

2008 has indeed been a remarkably eventful year for skopet. We have seen the arrival of many new players notably Mar, Bob(freelance), Weihong and Khaliq among others and earned our fair share of trophies in tournaments.

It would thus be fitting if we end the year on a high in our last weekend game this saturday, especially since recent form has not been that impressive.

So lets turn up in full force this saturday, go all out, enjoy the game and afterwards take some time to chill before a new hectic year and school/work begin for some of us.

First of all, our heartfelt Congratulations to recent acquisition, Khaliq, on his wedding a few days ago.

Skopet was represented that day by Ahmad Tempe, AbgHidung and partners. A flop by Tempe in not reading the invite properly led to Boyboyan and co. getting ready in their jemputan gear in the afternoon only to realise the event was at 7.30 pm. Sigh. Remember Murphy's Law last year in KL? haha.

Anyway though we werent there physically, we were there with you in spirit. ok thats BS. Nonetheless, congrats bro. Our best wishes to you and family,.. and hopefully with the extra commitment, u dont retire from soccer.

Bt Gombak Soccer Carnival 2009

Last weekend Dragonscage was ditched in favour of the wet and muddy pitch of Lianhua Primary, as Skopet Invicta submitted 2 teams to join Bt Gombak Soccer Carnival 2009.

The drizzling rain drizzled throughout the morning and afternoon, but enthusiasm for the beautiful game reigned supreme as Skopet took to the field in hope of bringing home the coveted title of 'Champions of Gombak'.

While one team struggled, the other eased through to the semis only to be halted in their tracks by a familiar foe, the Lianhua Veterans, or as they preferred to be called during the competition as Young Spiritz.

All in all, it was a good outing for the team. Plenty of friends were made, lots of goals were scored ~~and conceded~~, and a new position in the team has been found for Mar - goalkeeper! Hah, Wan ~~Dramawan~~ Dermawan gotta watch his posts carefully now. Bah!

Till the next tournament or game (when's the next one huh?), peace and chill out bros~

My fellow skopets, this is the same tournament that we entered last year and crashed out in the semis when the opponent scored in the dying minutes courtesy of a deft assist from the tree beside the goal post. Nonetheless, we still managed to come up with the bronze trophy.

Hence what better way to end this year than to add the trophy that could and should have been ours to our trophy collection. We will be sending in two teams this year and hopefully you guys will be able to beat each other's guts out in the finals.

Post Match Review - VS MOE (Bob's Team)

After countless tries and numerous delays. Invicta Skopet finally gets to play against Bob's MOE team, and on the beautiful pitch of Victoria School too!

So this is my maiden posting on this blog, so pardon my lack of knowledge amongst Skopets' actual names - I've yet to make a habit of remembering names, so bear with me for a while.

Okay, I won't be commenting much on the first half, as I was still stuck at work then, but fortunately I arrived to witness the (kindof) pretty lady sitting by the touchline.

So... I subbed in for like 5 minutes of the half and just when it felt like the engine started to turn, the half time whistle came too soon. So Skopets and MOE went into the break, with the deadlock unbroken in a tight and balanced match.

But Wan Dramawan (Is this nick correct?) would beg to differ as he mentioned during the pep talk that Skopet don't deserve to go into the break leveled, but leading instead.

I vaguely recall like there was this unmissable chance from Fad, which he blasted towards one of the flying eagles behind the opponent's goal. Hmm, not sure why or how accurate this is but that is how the story goes.

Anyway, the second half proceeded with MOE brazenly taking raids into Skopet's penalty area, and soon enough they got the opening goal via a low cross from the left flank, which was fortuitously turned in via a slide-shot at goal, as it rolled infront of one of MOE's onrushing forward.

First blood to MOE. A well worked and deserved goal, but suspicions of offside lingers subconciously. Hmmm...

In response, Skopet's midfield worked tirelessly as Khallid, Prem, and Zai seeked to dominate in the middle of the park. Backed by the tireless running (sey~) from both flanks, Skopet duely reaped it's reward. The constant harrassing of the opponent's stoppers from Fad allowed him to slipp through the middle before coolly slotting the ball low, to the keeper's side and into the back of the net.

Great solo effort from the Captain indeed, as Skopets drew level. 1 - 1. Game on.

Sadly, there wasn't anymore goals to follow, but we did felt like the referee was a little bit harsh on some of his decision. The closest to a second Skopet goal was a lob, from outside the box, by Yusop.

Plenty of chances and swift attacking play from either side, but the disciplined defensive lines from both sets of defence prevailed.

Offside calls from the referee halted play a couple of times, though we felt that they were dubious at times, and no thanks to unlaced boots or perhaps boots with studs missing, most of the potshots taken were astray.

So the final whistle blew, Skopet 1 - MOE 1.

Good game, clean match, good field and nice weather.

He has to send another round of urgent msg this morning.. and yet no replies. Two words.. wake up! This is a gentle reminder.. Or Rizman will smack you with you know what.

The MOE team should be a very good team, since the one player we know from there happens to be Bob. It is thus vital to field a complete team.. and not just rely on guest players. Exams should be over this friday .. so saliman, husni, jonas etc.. you guys better turn up.

Apologies for the late post. Full time score for sat's friendly was 2-0 to Singapore Chinese Football Association at Balestier ITE, the biggest field we have ever played. Another defeat. sigh.
They were good. Organised and robust, something you'd expect from a PRC team. Add slick passing to that and we knew we had our work cut out that day. Some players mentioned that they're similar to our Lianhua nemesis, maybe better. I couldnt disagree.

Their first goal in the first half was a screamer of a volley. Rudy was very close but it was a well taken shot.
In the second half we conceeded a penalty after Rizman brought their speedy winger down in the box. 2-0.
From our side, Sop and Mar came close to scoring but was foiled by their keeper.

Lack of players let us down again but with injuries and exams going on I supposed it cant be helped.

Many thanks to guest players Vindu and Pravin who covered left and right back positions, Khaliq who played in Centremid and Ahmad on the left wing. You guys are welcomed to join us anytime.

To those who came, well done despite the lost and Im sure we will learn lots more if we continue getting tough opponents. As always we didnt give up and actually played better in the 2nd half. Too bad we didnt get a a break, though i did get a kick in the face.

Next up.. Another tough match.. and another faraway place. This time victoria school field. And we're playing against Bob's MOE team! Best of all its going to be cheap.. So please reply your attendance.
I have handphone issues now and lost all your contacts. So VC Rizman will be doing the comms for now. Which i believe he has not been doing yet.. Come on man.. we cant afford to slack for this game.

Let's see -we got a field and an opposition team but we got no team ourselves. LOL. Maybe next week , we will have everything but a major problem - a kit clash between the 2 teams and no alternatives. Satu team kena telanjang ah kalo nak main. Week after that - maybe no ref. sa Since we're not getting enough soccer due to shortage of pple(exams) boyboyan and I have been trying our hands at other games these past weeks.. and found out that we sux at bowling and pool. So we decided to quit both and try table tennis instead. Playing for the first time with soppet and toyol at cck, we felt we did quite ok. Not so embarrassing or flop ar. And it was surprisingly fun.

After a wacky session, I think we guys picked up enough to sent out a formal challenge to the ladies team who " fear nothing". So do you dare?

Some cool goals taken from youtube. No.2 is truly a gem. How did he do that? pure luck? Try asking a skopet player(aza) how do you train luck, the answer would be to pray a lot, do good deeds and refrain from sins. karma eh?

In that case something is definitely wrong somewhere cos we're out of luck in getting matches in recent weeks. The Lianhua field is always booked while getting SSC fields proved to be difficult since many schools closed operation. So be prepared for more away matches. This week will be at 3pm BALESTIER ITE. More details to come.
Nonetheless the last 2 weeks without games is actually helpful for those having exams, knowing that they didnt miss anything. Not that it matters since Adiksal was spotted watching a movie last night at JP when he was supposed to be studying. Ohhh.. no time for soccer but got time for movies.. ishk. soccer match = 90mins. body of lies = 2+ hrs. Sigh how to major in maths hah.

Still on the topic of lucky/funny goals we do have a couple of our own which blurs the boundary between luck and skill. And in true skopet fashion, I give you our top 4.

4. On Lianhua ground, Sop(who else) hit a volley from distance which looked rather tame and weak.. until it bounced at the last minute away from the waiting keeper and into the goal. The keeper was shocked. luck or skill? skill, according to sop pet, he put an extra spin to the shot. right..

3. At Fuhua Sec, Toyol got a rare winner when he slotted the ball home after a series of mesmerising walking dribble. The ball rolled slowly into goal but the defenders who made an effort to chase and slide and whatever could not stop it in time. Skill, the walking dribble at its best would appear to slow down time. haha.

2. Against Hatta's RI team, I mishit a shot after coming on. A slow grounder rolling to the keeper.. the chance of going in was 0%, until the keeper scooped up the ball and over his head into goal. wtf? haha. Definitely skill, no way a keeper can make that sort of blunder right? heh.

1. And finally the numero uno goal was against a chinese team at Dunearn Sec. Zai bacul, having played as a striker a couple of times including that game, was desperate to score his first goal as a forward and came close on couple of occassions. His patience paid off as the ball bounced off his chest from an adiksal pinpoint cross and into the goal. Luck. nuff said.

Losing our touch.

Skopet FC got a hard earned draw against FC soldier last saturday. It was one of those difficult matches where the opponents are way fitter than us. The weather did little to aid in our cause of another victory.First half was an even game between the two sides with plenty of decent chances but neither team got a goal. So it was tied at 0-0 at the break.

2nd half was a different story. FC soldier got a goal through a corner halfway thru the 2nd half. We need to work out on our defending against set pieces as shown by that goal. It's been a while since we kept a clean sheet so yeah. Skopet FC pushed for an equaliser in the last minutes and was rewarded soon enough. Good work at the right flank with Captain Fad 'stealing' a ball from the FC soldier's who fed to Sop Pet. Sop Pet wasted no time unleashing a brutal shot. The goalkeeper could only parry the ball to me. Haha. I wasted no time to tap it in . Good goal. LOL

That was Skopet FC's 200th goal after 60 games. Well done guys. This goal is dedicated to all of u. hah.

There's issues regarding some tactics in the last few games and I think we got to address it ASAP for the upcoming games. We had a short discussion right after the game about our defensive backline to compact themselves when defending and also the wingers to drop back to help too with the defending. No offence Rudy but I think its because the defenders are trying to adapt themselves to the new system after the countless games we had played. That was where the defenders always spread themselves out and excel in overlapping runs down the flanks to aid the attack.Just my 4 cents worth. Myself , Fad , Zai , Prem and even our new signing Wei Hong had a a pretty long discussion about the new formations we are trying to get used to. Lots of suggestions but they are pointless if we don't consult the rest of the team. I suggest we will have a good one during the next game.

A so called serious post at my side. haha. Not good with words tapi buat macam paham je. LOL.

everytime we go against the lianhua veterans team, it feels like our very own derby match. whoopty doo...anyway...1st half, skopet is a bit haywire. the veterans showed us that they're a better exponents of the passing game. with all due respect, i mean it. there were mere escapes and luck, but skopet showed grit and resilience throughout. after several barrage in our own half, somehow we manage to hang on and suddenly break thru with boyboyan's opener. offside?..not offside?...but the goal stands..wooohooo....but then our opponents struck an equaliser. a lovely pass, and a run from behind the defenders. rudy got a hand to it, but unfortunately ends up in the back of the net. 2nd half, we played much better. defending tightly, and hitting back with counter attacks. several minutes later, fad didn't manage to get a decent first touch from a cut back. but it fell favorably for prem to hit a deepavali goal. the king of pet could have scored but the birthday boy lacking bite in his shots. i think there was 4. (and yes, he is twenty pet years old. happy b'day!) skopet managed to hang on for the rest of the 90 mins for the win. wooohoo again. our good record against them still in tact. however, much respect to the opponents who gave us a run for our money. they always gave us a hard time.

Well done everyone for the last game. Yes its crunch time this week. Will be playing against the Lianhua veterans team again. We had our proud record of 4 victories over them tainted by the last defeat which had weiming out of action till now. And for the record, prodigy syaf's knee ligament tear was also during an encounter with them. Unlucky? jinxed against them? maybe not but lets just prepare ourselves as much as we can. Meet at 4.25pm latest on the field for a routine team warm up session led by Rudy or Rizman. Remember to bring shinpads, kneeguards, ankleguards, ballguards or whatever you need. (btw our first aid kit is lacking a deep heat spray)

They are a good, organised team with fluid passing as we all know. But we are a match for them anytime IF our regular players turn up and in good number. We were'nt able to claw back into the game with 10 men that fateful day. Lets not make the same mistake. Come out in full force this saturday and give them a run for their money. Especially uncle bual world. haha.

Let's keep it plain and simple this time. Skopet FC had its first match after a long break against Ventz FC @ Bishan Park Secondary school last sunday.

Skopet FC has a good away record and was determined to maintain it. And we did it with syle. The return of Baqir aka 'The Mop' and Jonas made it more memorable. With many players coming back from watever ghetto reasons , Skopet FC will only get stronger in the future to come. Haha. Macam paham je.

First half highlights - We started well with Baqir geting fed so many through balls at the very center of Ventz FC's defense that it was only a matter of time , he scored a delightful goal . We had problems at the back with their long and high balls but we stood firm. Ventz FC was using their bulky size and height to their advantage throughout the game. Soon after a good inter play inside their penalty box , we got ourselves a penalty after an outrageous hand ball. LOL. Their last man deliberately stopped the ball which was heading towards Fad who was ready to pounce on it like a bear deprived of cheesecake. The penalty kick was a normal routine for me. Hah. A slight body feint to my left and a drop of shoulder got the keeper out of sorts and he dived the wrong way. A cool finish indeed.woot. 2-0 it was halfway throught the 1st half. Ventz FC almost scored twice but the revitalised Abg Hidung and Jiaming cleared the ball of the line on 2 occassions. Well done. But the resulting corner led to a goal. Sloppy defending from our side against set pieces. We were vulnerable everytime they get the ball inside our penalty box but Rudy did well to marshal the defensive backline. We went into the break with slender 2-1 lead.

2nd half highlights - Prem clicked well with Bob in midfield to create decent chances for the strikers. And before long , we got our 3rd goal courtesy of a beautiful headed goal from the Captain. The in form Syahir got himself a goals after lovely work on the left flank. Fadly did a 'Robinho' to feed syahir the ball with an 'accidental' backheel which went through the legs of the defender. Syahir wasted no time to smash the ball home. Another goal came shortly with Mar as the provider this time. Another cool finish from Syahir although he almost 'caplek' the ball out to safety. hahahaha. Gool goal though. Baqir got another for Skopet FC. Well done boy. Ventz FC managed to pull one back after Abg Hidung handled the ball inside our penalty box. A soft penalty but it was the referee's decision. 6-2 was the final score.

A solid perfomance. Keep it up. Next up is against our arch nemesis , Lianghua veterans. We lost to 3-1 to them during the last game. More info will be posted soon. Xie xie.

A rare away match. A bit of travelling for this one. Bishan is not that far. We've played at Hougang before. Jiaming's project grpmates will be there to observe us. Its been 29 days since we last played a game and 78 days since our last victory. damn. Let's stop the rot and start improving on our ailing record. The magic word is commitment. Come on guys its just 2 hours once a week. Every one is equally busy but please try your best.

Already 2 of our best wingers are out. Saliman has a fam gathering and Sop jalan raya with NS friends. sigh, cant help it. So the rest pls make it. Cancel dates, reschedule tuitions or whatever. Im hoping Mar and even Zali can come down for this one.

We will abandon our cars n bikes on sunday, take the MRT and have dinner after the game at bishan for a much needed team bonding, or as rudy calls it 'bondage' session.

Anyone notice the depth in our width? With Saliman and Sop out, we have a different yet equally destructive pairing of Syahir and Mar marauding the flanks. Even in centremid we have Zai/Prem/Iskandar and occasionally Hatta/Zali. But to get everyone to come down is a different matter.

This year's annual team iftar was held on a Friday. And for the first time we were joined by the ladies team (which explains going round in circles in orchard looking for an ice cream place).

Only 11 skopet guys were able to make it including the long forgotten Baqir. Enough to form a team, haha. Notable absentees include Rudy/Hatta who had to prepare for IFG final the day after and Mar and others who had to work. Roughly 10 ladies team players also turned up. And not to forget we were graced by the presence of both Soppet's sisters, Zahra and Fiza, the latter a possible new recruit. Well I've heard rumours of some family takeover of the skopet board.. hmm.. lets wait and see. haha.

Broke fast at Sakura Far East after which we proceeded with a long walk to nowhere whereas some 2 fellas at the back were debating about spiritual stuff the entire journey. No shit. Its like the rest of us are invisible. Haha, nonetheless, if u can out-talk Prem then you're the man. So whos the winner anyway?

ramadhan kick-off!

its the only ramadhan kick off for this year.
skopet vs standard chartered @ clementi woods sec.
our adversities
- 12men ( 2 men only available per half)
- more than half the squad was fasting
- giant sized opponents
but it ain't excuses.
we kicked off with 1 men short for the 1st 15mins but managed to snatch the 1st goal. thru ball by boyboyan, fadly who was offside let the ball roll as he is deem not in play, and zai gets to the ball finishing with outside of his foot.
but in truth, boyboyan intend to pass to fadly, who was completely oblivious and didn't get the pass, and zai got to the ball 1st.
we manage to stay in control of the game in the 1st half.
2nd half, husni no longer can provide his services and was replace with ahmad. we gambled with 3 in the back with 1 deep sitting mid, and it proved to be suicidal when our opponents seem to step up. they equalised with, i must admit, a beautiful build up to a brilliant goal. a cross, head down and this guy chest the ball and half volleyed into the net. and then, a penalty?..1st try disallowed caused by their own player, 2nd try, struck the post. yes, rudy's ramadhan miracle.
but they did managed to get the lead with a controversial goal. it was laid off by a player who was offside.
well that kinda suck.
for the remaining period skopet try to find a way back. we would have, if rizman's effort didn't struck the post and fadly's shot wasn't directed at the keeper.
but finally, a few passes and prem had space for a long shot. we finally equalised few minutes before time. what a relief eh..
not giving up and all the hard work paid off boys..keep it up..
but when we have our 1st game after raya, a bit more effort to track back alrite..

Skopets, regret to inform you that our Datok Lianhua has 'bubbled' us for this saturday's game. Im gettting other organisers to try get a game. So as of now no confirmed match yet, but pls keep sat free. Will confirm by Friday. Though I hope our field form wont be like our last dragonscage session. haha wat a flop. We just cant seem to score. Luckily Ahmad Syukri won us 2 games with impossible angled goals.

Good luck to the Engineering team for this year's NUS InterFaculty Games. Ive been informed that the 08 campaign is led by none other than our Hatta.. which follows a proud tradition.. Skopet players have been captain of the engine team for 3 consecutive years. wow. Rudy skippered the side in 2006, Evan in 2007 and now Hatta's the man.

Im sure the current side will miss our prodigy, syaf, who by the way is recovering well and is seen donning skopet colours to school. Baik ah syaf. A few more months je. Next year kau nye turn. Eh but that means you'll need to repeat year 4. haha.

With such distinguised fellow team/schmates, pressure thus mounts to the latest Skopet freshman in NUS, AdikSal. How? Did you get a place in the Science team? haha

On a different note altogether, Skopet IFTAR will be held next week. When and Where to be confirmed soon. Sap from skopet ladies has gamely taken on the organiser role. Syahir pls assist. Oh wait, our recreation IC, Zai B, is clearing leave in view of ORD. So yes Zai pls liase with them and confirm attendance from our side.
