Match Report Mana!?

Hi,

Yes i'm back from my refreshing two-weeks loan/training stint with Chinese side Dalian Shide. Truly an eye-opener. Have learnt a lot from the more experienced players there especially in ball control and shooting. The coach made me work extra hard but i didnt mind as it will only benefit me and ultimately skopet fc.

So what happened when i was away? The team played a match with ngee ann students last saturday and drew 1-1. Wheres the match report?! Mcm mane bole draw..? disrupt our trashing form sey. Haha ok at least we didnt lose. Couple of factors played a part i guess. 1) afternoon heat - ok noted guys. future matches will avoid 11am slot. 2)opponents are good - tak mungkin ah.. budak poly sey.. haha 3) No quality strikers - Mr consistent shafik was missing and myself(one goal a game) away on loan. haha.

Ok lets take the positives. Our unbeaten run is maintained and Prodigy Syaf is finally back and from what i've heard playing better as ever. So is Hatta. Plus Syahir Gremlim is close to recovery and could play the next match. These are good signs. So skopet fans.. do look forward to the next game. Will be playing against a tough opponent - Zara's bf team. Details as follows.

Skopet 1st Anniversary

A year ago, Team Skopet started playing their 1st friendly as a tune up match in preparation for last year's Topper Cup. The 1st half of that very 1st friendly was a disaster. And in that match, I scored a glorious chip against them as "opponents". (The goal that was claimed "forgettable" by most of these "tak leh accept nye budak2").
But somehow in the 2nd half, the-then new breed of footballing team discover form by playing fluent street soccer style. "The Skopet Football". They turn the tide and won that match. And from then on, promising Skopet FC kicked on.
And a year has passed.

17 wins.
3 draws.
2 losses.
With 84 goals scored.

Ok, maybe we have yet to go far in tormanent, I mean tornaments.
We can and we shall.
With all the ups and down.
The highs and low.
I am still proud to say that within this one year, we have gain a lot.
Improvised our performance and teamwork in the pitch, match after match.
And not to forget, bonding with friends/team mates.

for us to "kutok" each other...

Still, as "Skopetians", and after one tumultuous year,
no matter what happened, we are still kicking about.

On the 16th of June, 2007, Skopet FC celebrated their one year anniversary.

One Year Old.

Yes thats rite. Tmr 16th of june Skopet FC turns one.. In conjuction with the anniversary , as stated in the previous posts , we also celebrating 4 of the skopetians's birthdays all in the month of June. Birthday boys are our very own inspiring captain, Fadly aka Baby Bear , Zai bacul , Ahmad Tempe and not forgetting myself , Boyboyan.

Ok here are the exact details, so fans or neutrals of team skopet , pls do come for the BBQ.

Venue : East Coast Park BBQ pit C7
Time : 16th June Saturday 6pm - the next day (Sunday) ( only 4 those willing to chill with us overnight)

Just a reminder , those coming , pls dun come empty handed. Guess u need to prepare not one but four presents for the birthday boys. LOL..Just kidding. U just coming will be more than enough. Thanks.

A thousand thanks to those who are into our blog for the past few months. Good to know that at least some appreciate these shit kids blog. The visitors' counter has finally reach the 4444 mark. WOOt..Success..Aight. Stay tune kids. See u guys tmr.

P.S - for the skopetians(pardon me for using malay) - Fad bawak je the chicks.. jangan lokek2. Ah sop jemput budak2 class kau especially mars balls. Ahmad , standard ah , kau scandal banyak, tolak sini sikit..LOL..ooops.. Yg lain jemput je siapa2 yg kenal kita , of course..the ladies..macam tak paham gitu. Ok go. Staggering numbers....

Hello kids..Its me again , ur beloved dark chocolate and it's mid june - A historic day is approaching in a few days.LOL. Yeah its the one year anniversary of Skopet FC/Team skopet. Hahahaha. Masih baby baby lagi. Tapi team fierce giler dok.

There would be another skopet awards ceremony in the near future but before that I would like to touch a bit of the statistics about skopet and its soccer for the past one year. hahaha.. A 'bit' would be an understatement..haha.

Just a reminder that the word 'skopet' was derived from a legendary 'sasul' from our very one sop empet. woot. Since then , there is no turning back. The team was formed with the core members coming from the same college and numbers has reached 30 so far. We have 3 sets of jersey - Red , Yellow and white. Hahahaha.*yawn* boring crap. haha..No one wants to know all this. Cannot wait for me to reveal the numbers? yeah sure u are...ok go.

Number of games played so far (friendlies) for the past year : 22
Won: 17 Drew: 3 Lost: 2
Clean sheets: 7 Yellow cards obtained : 4 Red Cards: nil
No of goals scored : 84 !!!!!!
Goals conceded : 27 Goal difference :+57
Penalties taken: Nil Penalties against us : 4 (2 scored , another 2 missed..LOL bodoh)

Amazed? hahahaha.. Nice numbers? The skopet kids had a short debrief a few days back to reflect our past year perfomance and came out with all this numbers. Haha..power dega. Looks like the numbers are made up , but honestly these numbers are nothing but true and appealing to the eyes.Looking back u can see , we will score an an average about 4 goals per game and have a 77% chance of winning. 30% chance to get a clean sheet. *Ngecel with joy* LOL. Well done guys . We worked hard for this.

Discipline wise , skopet is still ok. 4 yellow cards - 2 was rough play from Zai bacul (trying to break a player's leg despite being very cowardly in his approach of getting to his love infactuation, n*y mitchell..hahaha..Maaf ye zai) and Herman toyol gemuk ( no one expected this...even the ref was very 'discrete' in showing the yellow card - dia takut kena bantai ah). Another yellow was given to our Ginger Juice Babybear , our 'inspiring' captain for dissent. Hahaha.. ni captain? attitude ah..dah offside tu offside..kau nak argue apahal..LOL. THe last yellow was for shafik for trying to do the 'The Hand of God ' like maradona but trying to improvise a bit more by using 2 hands blatantly in front of everybody..hahaha..cute sight.

A very good year indeed for the skopet kids. Celebration will be done this Saturday at the bbq. Again would like to invite anyone who knows us to feel free to come and chill with us.Thank you.

Ah before i forget , u guys must be thinking ..hmmm..friendlies only? no 'tomanent' or competition? no silverware? Sad to say but yeah..LOL.. Skopet kids are a bunch of flops (sorry ah guys tapi betul pe..hahahaha) when comes to the competitve matches. Just like Spain in the world cup , team skopet underachieves everytime, furtherst we go so far was into the knockout stages..hahaha.. Winning mentality mana?!!!...

Its the third birthday this month for skopet and its none other than boybacul himself, Zaini. Hmm.. jap.. whats the skopet template birthday wish.. oh yah... ok. Skopet FC wishes Zai a Happy 23rd birthday and all the best for your future endeavours. May you abandon ur baculness and finally make a move on *** mitchell. Quote from boyboyan, "Ni semua basic zai.."

It is the norm for a birthday boy to get a treat from his friends on his special day but the opposite is the practice for the subversive skopets. lol.

And so it was.. Zaibacul belanjaing a select few to swensens dinner at JP earlier today.

Cake-> Hatta.. get a decent and big enuff birthday cake with the wordings : SkopetFC 1 Year Ann. or something
Groundsheets/tikar-> adik sal. gi pinjam.
Drinks-> Rudy?still want to go for bottles? taknak pakai sirap? Ahmad will bring the cooler.
Nasi goreng/Mee -> Syahir and Zai. target 20 pax each.

with these done we're good to go. And of course dont forget to pay Boyboyan. shortage of $$$. And i have nominated Syaf to be chief logistics for this event since he's missed so many of our games. lol.

scored empet!

lost. confused. disoriented. That was what we felt when we played our first away game at Hougang. Many of the skopetians being the proverbial katak-di-bawah-tempurungs have never been to that (north)eastern side of Singapore before. So like true budak2 jakuns we observed the unfamiliar surroundings with awe;especially when we saw two gypsies as soon as we got out of hougang mrt station.haha. What a sight. pity no one got to take a pic. besides, the air there is fresher, the grass greener and the ladies much much taller than what we are used to back home.
So TeamSkopet for the first time travelled together to our match venue;Xinmin Sex. Our opponents were a newly formed team, and they were -at the risk of sounding cocky-mediocre at best. Skopet fielded an ultra attacking line-up with the return of renegade sop spearheading the midfield and adik sal+hidayat marauding the flanks. Boyboyan and Shafik partnered in attack at the expense of the slow and asthmatic Babybear so in theory goals were never in doubt.

Our courageous captain played last man in defence, 10 positions away from his usual CF role and was understandably uncomfortable at first. But the three 3-tonner defence of suhaimi,husni and me together with dzul and ever-reliable gk Rudy dig didi held firm to secure our second cleansheet in a row. well done guys.

In-form Shafik scored two beautiful goals and Sop added another to send us on the way to victory. Too bad i didnt quite see the goals due to astigmatism. lol.
We dominated possession and chances were aplenty throughout the game only to be let down by woeful finishing. Sigh. Come on guys. We should have won at least 7-0. Hidayat was unlucky to hit the post and shafik too with a thundering header to the crossbar. The main culprit, Boyboyan, missed an open goal which even molek(inside joke) could score..i think.. hahahhaha!! Main defence sudah man..

3-0 does not do justice to our game and thus captain couragous ran all the way from defence and powered a rasengan of a header through the keeper's legs and into goal to qualify the win as a trashing. Ole! Full time- 4-0. our fine form continues.. 8-2, 6-3, 5-0, 4-0. look what good an exams break did for our football. Gud job guys. We've got our first win in a foreign land. lol.

Birthday BBQ bash. On or off?

First of all , would like to thank those people who had made my 23rd birthday a memorable one..Haha.. Fruitful moments of getting to play in the dreaded rightback position again , getting me missing an easy chip with just the goalkeeper to beat recorded on video and not forgetting the horrible howl following the chip. LOL. Aaargh. Another thing is to say a word of thanks to those outsiders/guests who played in the crisis-stricken skopet team. Frens of Abg hidung and Zai bacul and also my close cousin who has a contrasting skin colour and height when compared to me...hahahaha. Well done guys, We shall not forget u all and u know its an honour to play in skopet..Stand by eh..Nanti2 kita tak cukup org kita call lagi.haha..

Hmmm. All i can say its only 20% ready. Ayam betul. Troublesome kids. Jangan tunggu last minute pls. Nanti flop. Commitee meeting this Saturday after the friendly match @ Hougang.
#$%^&*! We shall know our roles and duties by then hopefully. And pls contribute to the bbq fund. Those having financial difficulties pls fill up the loan form and pass it to our beloved loaded captain.

stay tune for updates. No of visitors is approaching 4444 soon. hahahaha. Hopefully it shall reach that number by the 16th.

Saturday , 09062007 , we will be having a match against a newly formed east side leisure team at Xinmin Secondary, 11 Hougang Ave 8.For those taking public transport , alight at Hougang Mrt and take bus no 147.Please be there by 230pm for warmup/training.

Everyone , try your best to come down as it is not easy to organise matches and find such opponents and most importantly we can test out plays and formations against this team.The opponent age range btw 19-27.; 12:20 PM

19 goals in 3 games

Yes amazing aint it? Goals are coming from everywhere, not only from the strikers. Gud job guys. Our goalscoring mojo is back.

So heres' the match report proper.

Prior to kickoff, Rizman and I had a hard time looking for players to make a team. Eleven players were unavailable for the game - due to a) injury, b)vacation, c) uncontactability d) work e) NS camp and one even due to f) an overinflated EGO. sigh.. the last one.. macam budak2.. shall not mention names. but if ur reading this.. wake up ur fucking idea. You've not only abandon your team, but your friends too.

In the end only 6 regular players turned up. Rudy, Rizman, Zai, Weiming, Evan and me. Plus another 2 who are Husni (angin2 haha) and Zul(new fullback). Cousins and outside friends were roped in to help and we would like to thank them for turning up and doing a great job. They are Nidzam, Hidayat,Muzammil,Haikal and Hadi.

The opponents looked intimidating when they arrived as a group. But what worried me was the appearance of two minah supporters. I looked at the guys,.. mata sume terbeliak, air liur meleleh.. mcm anjing haha. Oh no, will they be distracted? Maklumlah most of the skopetians are single and looking. Especially NSman like Zai who seldom get to cuci mata. nafsu buas. But alhamdulillah, they managed to tetapkan iman and carried on with our normal game. phew. Sorry i underestimated u guys.

We played very well. Our usual style of slick passing and flair, even with many unfamiliar faces. The newcomers fitted very well in the team, especially husni's friend hidayat and rizman's cuzin muzammil who showed some potential. The opponent played the offside trap and we struggled to find an opening initially before our top scorer(sape eh?) showed good movement to get the all-important first goal. From then on it was one-way traffic with nidzam hitting a cross beautifully into goal before Zai added a goal which is so spectacular it seems accidental. lol. okla kau bagus la. gurau je

In the second half a mazy dribble by Hidayat set me up for my second goal (tonjol) and minutes later haikal ran half the length of the field to score a solo goal. Boyboyan, who played in defence had a beautiful lob just inches wide of the post.

While our attack was brilliant, our defence was just as solid; keeping the opponents at bay. Rizman and Zul was tirelessly overlapping to assist the attack in style while the central pair of Weiming and Husni were solid in the air and on the ground. And of course theres our safe hands Rudy who got a well-deserved clean sheet with couple of crucial interceptions and saves. The opponent even missed a penalty. Final score 5-0.

This team showed character with so many players out and winning by 5 goals. Even with a makeshift team we were fearless and played our normal attacking game. Well done all. Those with injuries pls take care of urself and recover as soon as possible. We have another match next saturday 3pm and hopefully by then a couple of players are back from holidays. \

Anonymous said...: Ok guys , the reason Skopet won the last game was the great finishing of the players.That was what differentiate Skopet from the opponents.The opponents played well but lacked good strikers and their keeper was , I think , makeshift or 'roped in'.So for the next game , I recommend Skopet to play 4-3-3 or 5-2-1-2 with 2 overlapping wing backs to boost its attack and strikeforce.Skopet need to get its tactics right so that less pressure and expectation is placed on the strikers and most importantly win the game.; 5:04 AM

birthdays!

Skopet wishes Happy Birthday to Rizman (Boyboyan) and Ahmad tempeh; both important members of team skopet. Boyboyan, as many know by now, is one of our most skillful and versatile players. lethal as a striker and solid as a swashbluckling fullback. At the moment due to many absences, he is doing a great job helping the defence. Ahmad on the other hand is ever reliable when we are short of players. Even though playing a backup/bit role most of the time, he never complains and does the job wholeheartedly.
Congrats on reaching 23, guys. As a captain, teammate, and most importantly gud friend, I wish you all the best for the future.

It is the norm for a birthday boy to get a treat from his friends on his special day but the opposite is the practice for the subversive skopets. lol.

And so it was.. Zaibacul belanjaing a select few to swensens dinner at JP earlier today.

Prawns and fish-> Zai.. settlekan. 2kg should be ok. and of course stingrays a must.
Cake-> Hatta.. get a decent and big enuff birthday cake with the wordings : SkopetFC 1 Year Ann. or something
Groundsheets/tikar-> adik sal. gi pinjam.
Drinks-> Rudy?still want to go for bottles? taknak pakai sirap? Ahmad will bring the cooler.
Nasi goreng/Mee -> Syahir and Zai. target 20 pax each.
